Fireworks were let off through letterboxes at two addresses in York yesterday and through the window of another location posing a serious risk to residents.
North Yorkshire Police are investigating the three incidents which happened in the Tang Hall area of York between 6:30pm and 7:00pm on Carter Avenue, Fourth Avenue and Olympian Court.
Sergeant Luke Hutchinson, of the York Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “These incidents are clearly disturbing, and we are doing all we can to identify the suspects involved.
“Luckily there were no injuries and no serious damage caused. However, this could have had devastating consequences.”
Officers released advice for those who wish to take extra measures to protect their homes during this time.
They advise people to secure their letterboxes, install CCTV or video doorbells, report suspicious behaviour and to keep their windows shut.
As part of their ongoing enquiries, they are urging people to come forward who may have witnessed any of the incidents or have any relevant information.
