Crime-fighting canines have been putting in a paw-some effort this week alongside the Humberside Police team.
At 360Wire, we’ve rounded up some of our favourite police dog stories from the force this week.
Starting off with Police Dog Ceko, who was called into action to conduct an area search after officers received reports of three individuals allegedly trying door handles in the area of Clumber Street, Hull in the early hours of Thursday morning, 30 October.
The three individuals were detained, but the bag they appeared to be carrying was missing.
PD Ceko successfully tracked the rucksack, with what are believed to be tools inside, using just scent alone.

Next up, Police Dog Lottie was deployed on Tuesday evening, 28 October, after two men were involved in a verbal dispute on Hessle Road, Hull, with one man reportedly carrying two knives.
PD Lottie bravely challenged the man, who was able to then be detained by officers.

Early Monday morning, 27 October, Police Dog Puck was brought in to assist with locating two men after officers received reports of people trying door handles in the area of Beresford Avenue, Hull.
After assistance from residents and CCTV footage, the two men were sighted nearby on Hardy Street.
PD Puck challenged both men, leading to a 28-year-old man being arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary with intent to steal, and a 33-year-old man being arrested on suspicion of going equipped for burglary, attempted burglary with intent to steal, and possession of class A drugs.
The police force took to social media to show what their Police Dogs get up to when they are off duty.
From swimming at the beach to birthday celebrations, it’s clear they have a well-earned work-life balance.
Sadly however, this week Humberside Police announced that retired Police Dog Q had passed away on 27 October following a short illness.

PD Q served with the force as a general purpose dog with his handler PC Neil Walker from 2016 to 2020.
On Facebook, Humberside Police wrote: “Thank you for your service Q”.
