Work is due to begin on a road improvement scheme after East Riding of Yorkshire Council invest £200,000 to help.
The scheme aims to improve roads near Patrington in Holderness. The money invested is to improve Bydales Lane in Winestead, covering a stretch of road between the junction with Cross Lane and the railway crossing.
Councillor Paul West, the council’s cabinet member for environment and transport, said: “We want to thank residents, businesses and drivers in this area in advance for their patience and understanding while we complete these road improvements.”
The project, beginning on Monday 3 November 2025 is expected to take up to three weeks to complete, with work expected to be carried out during the daytime.
The triangular island at the junction will be removed and the layout realigned to improve traffic flow.
During the work, the road will be closed to all through traffic with a signed diversion route in place via Winestead Lane, Chantry Lane, Arables Lane, Arables and Frodingham Lane.
All works will be carried out by the council’s own road maintenance team.
