Yorkshire’s Most Wanted: The suspects police are searching for this week

All of these people are wanted by police across Yorkshire for offences ranging from a £10m drugs bust to a child sex offender on the run.

James Lee McGlinchey – wanted in connection with a robbery

Crime location: Harrogate

North Yorkshire Police have appealed for information about 37-year-old James Lee McGlinchey

Known to have links to Plateley Bridge, McGlinchey is wanted for a robbery on a woman on 16 October, 2025 outside Harrogate Fire Station at around 9:45pm.

Adam William Snowdon – wanted in connection with a violent incident

Crime location: Harrogate

Adam William Snowdon is wanted by North Yorkshire Police in relation to a violent incident in a pub on Wednesday 8 October, 2025 in Martin Cum Grafton. 

The victim, a man in his 50s, was attacked in the toilets, and enquiries to locate Snowdon are ongoing.

It is believed he is still in Harrogate, possibly in one of the villages on the outskirts of the town.

Asif Butt – convicted in absence for sexual offences

Crime location: Dewsbury

Kirklees District Police have renewed their appeal for a man wanted for historic sexual offences.

Asif Ghafoor Butt, 43, formerly of Selbourne Avenue in Dewsbury, fled from authorities in 2016 after being found guilty of several sexual offences committed in the Wakefield area against a then 13-year-old girl.

The offences include attempted rape, sexual assault, engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child, and two other serious sexual assault offences.

He was sentenced in absence to 11 years imprisonment on 24 May, 2017 but has since evaded police. 

It is thought he may have possibly travelled to Pakistan, but extensive enquires are ongoing to locate him locally and abroad.

He is described as asian, 5ft 6ins tall and of average build.

Detective Inspector Angela Francome of Kirklees District Police, said: “For the sake of his victim, we remain determined to find this man and put him back before the courts. 

“In the rare occasions where someone has fled justice, the force never gives up efforts to locate them, and we will not be doing so in this case.”

Mark Quill – conspiracy to supply Class A drugs

Crime location: Calderdale

West Yorkshire Police are looking for a 55-year-old man for failing to attend a court hearing. 

Mark Quill of the Calderdale area is charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs, with police enquiries ongoing to locate him. 

He is described as a white male of slim build and average height. He has grey hair and a grey beard.

Ashley Wharton

Crime location: Leeds

Police in Leeds are urgently appealing for information on a man wanted on recall to prison. 

Ashley Wharton, 32, was released on license earlier this month after serving part of his sentence for assault. 

It is now believed he has breached the terms of his release and is being recalled to prison. 

He is described as medium build with brown eyes, glasses and black hair, and has words tattooed on the left, right and centre of his neck.

Haytham Samir

Crime location: Leeds

Haytham Samir is wanted by West Yorkshire Police on recall to prison. 

The 42-year-old was released on licence in July, 2022 after being jailed for an offence of outraging public decency in South Yorkshire. 

He is now believed to have breached the terms of his release and is being recalled to prison.

He has links to the Harehills area of Leeds and South Yorkshire and is described as 5ft, 8ins tall.

Jonathan McAllister – convicted drug dealer failed to appear at sentencing hearing

Crime location: South Yorkshire

Jonathan McAllister is wanted by both South Yorkshire Police and West Yorkshire police, following an urgent appeal on his whereabouts. 

The 33-year-old, formerly of Finkle Street Lane, Wortley, near Sheffield, failed to appear at Sheffield Crown Court for sentencing following an investigation by the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Organised Crime Unit (YHROCU).

The convicted drug dealer was sentenced in absence to 20 years imprisonment after being found guilty of conspiracy to supply cocaine and heroin, conspiracy to supply ketamine, possessing criminal property, and conspiracy to contravene customs laws.

McAllister, who was on bail, played a key role in importing 90kgs of cocaine and 10kgs of heroin from the Netherlands to an industrial estate in Ecclesfield, Sheffield – with an estimated street value of £9.5m.

A further consignment of 11kgs of cocaine and 6kgs of heroin were intercepted before it arrived at an industrial estate in Penistone, Barnsley – estimated to have a street value of more than £1.25m. 

Another search of a lock-up connected to McAllister also resulted in the discovery of 15kgs of ketamine as well as £25,000 at his home. 

He is described as a white man, of slim build, 5ft 11ins tall, with dark brown hair and blue eyes.

Noel Ward – absconding from prison

Crime location: Doncaster 

Noel Ward is wanted by police in Doncaster after absconding from HMP Hatfield on 8 October, 2025.

The 39-year-old was serving a sentence for conspiracy to defraud and was released on temporary licence, but he failed to report back at the given date and time. 

Officers have now been carrying out extensive enquiries to trace Ward, who also goes by the names: John Ward, Patrick Noel Christopher Ward, Noel Coke, and Noel James Coyle.

He is described as a white man, approximately 5ft 8ins tall, with brown short hair and stubble, and has links across the country. 

It is advised that Ward should not be approached if seen, but to call 999 instead.
