A 48-year-old man has been arrested in Hull, following reports of a disturbance at a property on Broadley Close during the early hours of this morning.

The man allegedly gained entry to the property at 1am to threaten and stab a 42-year-old man in the arm.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment, and his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Detective Inspector Lloyd Sharkett said: “I understand an incident of this nature will cause concern amongst the local community, but I would like to offer my reassurance that we believe this to be an isolated incident between two people known to each other.

“I can confirm a 48-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody at this time.

“As part of our investigation, officers have carried out thorough searches of the area and recovered a knife believed to be connected to the incident.

“A scene guard remains in place to allow officers and Crime Scene Investigators to carry out their enquiries, and residents may notice an increased police presence in the area.”
