Criminal evidence has been uncovered on a mobile phone, after a Doncaster drug dealer was caught with over 100 packages of heroin and crack cocaine in his car.

Dylan Watson, 22, of East Lane, Stainforth was first stopped by officers in January 2025, after his vehicle was searched and found to contain large quantities of cash, as well as plastic bags containing what was suspected to be heroin and cocaine.

Watson was taken to custody after officers found three mobile phones hidden in his trouser leg during the search, but was released on bail pending further enquiries.

Detective Inspector Laura Procter, from Doncaster’s Operation Fortify team, which is responsible for tackling serious and organised crime, said:

“Dedicated teams of officers and staff are constantly gathering intelligence on drug dealers operating in Doncaster and we will continue to take action against those suspected of being involved in this criminality.

“Drug dealing is often linked to wider organised crime networks responsible for instigating violence and fear in our communities. By removing drug suppliers we are working to dismantle the influence of these networks and we will continue to act on the information and intelligence we receive to keep our communities safe.”

Doncaster officers stopped him again in March 2025, who uncovered large quantities of Class A drugs on his person as well as a mobile phone which was fully examined.

South Yorkshire Police discovered conversations on the phone regarding ‘every facet of drug supply’ he was involved in, leading Watson to be arrested again and charged.

Watson pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine, as well as possessing criminal property and was jailed for four years and eight months, Sheffield Crown Court heard on Monday 20 October.
