Three more men arrested over fatal Sheffield shooting of Kassim Mohammed

Police have arrested three more men on suspicion of murder as part of the ongoing investigation into the fatal shooting of 32-year-old Kassim Mohammed in Sheffield last month.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Knowles, who is leading the investigation, said: “The central focus of the investigation has been the same from day one – providing answers for Kassim’s loved ones.”

Kassim was shot on Watery Street on 30 September and was pronounced dead at the scene despite the efforts of emergency services.

A murder investigation was launched immediately, and detectives have now made six arrests in total.

Two men, aged 27 and 31, were arrested this morning following the execution of warrants by Merseyside Police.

tAnother man, aged 35, was arresred in South Yorkshire on Thursday evening.

All three remain in police custody.

Earlier in the investigation, a 31-year-old woman and two men, aged 22 and 20, were also arrested on suspicion of murder and have been released on bail pending further investigations.

Detective Knowles added: “We have now made six arrests in connection with the shooting and I would like to thank our local communities for their help in providing us with vital information.”
