A project aimed to improve a main road in Little Kelk, near Driffield will begin this month after being announced by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council today.
The council will invest £490,000 into the improvements of the C22 road along Main Street, Little Kelk, between Gransmoor Lane and Moor Lane.
It will begin on Monday 13 October and is scheduled to take nine weeks to complete.
The work will include the resurfacing of the road, strengthening road edges, patching, improving surface water drainage and kerb replacements.
The section of the road being worked on will be closed to all, but will have a signed diversion route in place via Mill Lane, A614, Station Road, Moor Lane, Main Road, Gransmoor Road, A165 Lisset Lane, B1249 Main Street, Boston Lane and Old Howe Lane.
The council also noted that access to properties within the working areas will be maintained.
Councillor Paul West, the council’s cabinet member for environment and transport, said: “This is the second stage of essential road improvements for this rural area.
“We want to thank residents, businesses and drivers for their patience while we complete this work.”
This is a continuation of a road improvement scheme carried out in early 2024.
