60 tonnes of waste removed from Hull Fair by dedicated team
21 October 2025

Hull City Council

Over 60 tonnes of waste has successfully been removed from Hull Fair this year by a hard working team behind the scenes.

The dedicated street cleansing and waste operative teams worked tirelessly throughout the event, from the 10th to 18th October 2025, to ensure the site remained safe and clean for visitors.

Every morning, starting at 5am, a team of 40 staff carried out duties across the fairground site itself, West Park, and surrounding streets.

Now that the event is over, the team will continue to visit the site during the dismantling of the rides and stalls, to ensure the site is completely free of litter and rubbish.

Councillor Charles Quinn, cabinet portfolio holder for environment, said: “Our street cleansing and waste operative teams go above and beyond every year, and this year was no exception. Their dedication and hard work behind the scenes make a huge difference to the experience of thousands of visitors.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank every team member involved in this year’s clean-up operation – your hard work does not go unnoticed.”

West Park should be fully clear and restored by Wednesday 22nd October.
