14 October 2025

Dirty water has been seen gushing through several streets in Sheffield city centre this afternoon after a major water main burst, causing widespread disruption.

360wire breaking news reporter was on the scene at 6.15 pm, where water was still gushing along Eyre Street, sending up splashes as cars and bicycles moved slowly through the flood.

A section of Eyre Street had been closed, with traffic only able to travel one way towards the Bramall Lane roundabout, which was also affected by flooding.

South Yorkshire Police have urged people to avoid the area earlier, with several main routes, including Eyre Street, Cumberland Street, and the Bramall Lane roundabout.

According to Yorkshire Water, household and properties in the S2, S3, S6, S7. S8, S10 and S11 postcode areas could be affected by no or low pressure.

In a later update, Yorkshire Water’s website indicates that the issue affecting S10 and S11 has now been resolved.
