The former President of the Doncaster Central Labour branch Allan Hornsby appeared at Sheffield Crown Court today to deny allegations of attempted rape and another of sexual assault.
Hornsby, 77, of Florence Road, Balby, plead not guilty to both charges. The incidents are alleged to have happending during March 2025.
A trial date has been set for Summer 2027. Hornsby has been released on bail. It is understood that Hornsby was suspended from the Labour Party shortly after the party was made aware of these allegations.
A spokesperson for Doncaster Labour said: “The Labour Party condemns sexual violence in the strongest possible terms and in no way tolerates behaviour of this kind within the Party.”
