Mecca Bingo hosts second event for Paws for a Cause

Mecca Bingo hosted its second bingo event last Sunday to raise money for Support Dogs.

The Christmas-themed event was a huge success, raising £395 for the charity. Attendees participated in a raffle draw for chocolates and Mecca vouchers, with a suggested donation of £1 to the charity.

All additional optional contributions taken from the tables were also donated to Support Dogs.

Katie Williamson, Head of Fundraising at Support Dogs said: “We are so grateful for the Paws for a Cause team for helping us raise awareness and vital funds to allow us to continue our work. The series of events they have held over the past several weeks, culminating in a really successful event at Mecca Bingo, has reached so many people all across South Yorkshire who otherwise wouldn’t know about us. Thank you Paws for a Cause for helping us change lives!”

Around 200 people attended the event over the course of the day. Attendees also enjoyed a festive Christmas lunch from Mecca Bingo.

This comes following the success of the first event, hosted on Saturday 6 December.

Support Dog magazines were displayed at the front desk and around the event hall for attendees to learn more about the charity.

The 360Wire-backed campaign aims to raise £1,000 for 10 autistic children to meet their support dog for the first time, secure 15 sponsors for autism assistance dog Peggy, and recruit 10 puppy socialisers.
