Sheffield pub helps Paws for a Cause reach fundraising goal
8 December 2025

A Sheffield pub concluded their weekly pub quiz to back the 360wire Paws for a Cause campaign.

The Raven Inn, on 3rd December, held a pub quiz with a dog-themed round and raised £225 towards our £1,000 goal.

Systems manager and quizmaster Thomas Heath said, “It’s great to know that we have such a great community of people who are willing to come to the quiz every week and donate to the charity weekly. Having raised as much as we did by the end of this five-week stint has well and truly made it all worth it!”

The campaign, which comes to a close next week, aims to raise £1000 for 10 autistic children to meet their future support dog, call for 10 volunteers to register their interest in becoming a puppy foster parent for Support Dogs, and gather sponsorships for autism support dog Peggy.

The donations from the pub quiz along with the generosity of quiz-goers helped Paws for a Cause reach past their £1,000 goal.

“Having Support Dogs and the Paws for a Cause team present was a really nice touch so that both ourselves, The Raven Inn and the charity could come together for the finale quiz and see what it is we had done. It was a great night filled with laughs and everyone getting involved in the quiz and getting to know more about the charity,” Heath added.

The Raven Inn ran their pub quiz every Wednesday evening for five weeks, and all proceeds from a raffle and merch sales went to the charity. Entry for the quiz was priced at £2, with half of it going directly to Support Dogs.

The final pub quiz was a dog-themed quiz, with a special round dedicated to questions about the Support Dogs charity.

Support Dogs dedicates themselves to changing the lives of adults and children nationwide, training disability, autism, and seizure alert dogs.

Katie Williamson, Fundraising Assistant at Support Dogs said: “Thank you so much to Paws for a Cause and everyone who went along to the quizzes for supporting our charity and raising such an incredible amount of money!”
