Limited-edition Tigerworks drink raises funds for Paws for a Cause

A popular Sheffield bar has created a drink in support of Paws for a Cause, a campaign in aid of the charity Support Dogs.

Tigerworks, located on West Street, launched its Paws for a Cause Punch on Wednesday, 26 November, and continued serving it until 5 December.

Joanne, owner of Tigerworks, said: My family and I are big animal lovers, especially dogs, so we were really happy to support this campaign’s fundraising efforts by creating and selling the drink. Support Dogs is a wonderful charity.”

Tigerworks agreed to donate £1 from the sale of each £2 drink directly to the charity, supporting their efforts to provide autism assistance, seizure-alert, and disability support dogs.

Over £125 was raised through the sale of the punch alongside a donation made by the bar’s management.

The drink, a twist on a classic cocktail, Sex on the Beach, contained peach schnapps, orange and cranberry juice.

Riley Hall, a bartender at the bar, said: “I’m happy to be contributing to an important cause. Anyone who has the funds to support charities like this should definitely take the initiative to donate and help people who need it. Everybody deserves support.

“The drink is sweet, fruity, and has lots of different flavours in it. I’d encourage everyone to give it a try.”

Several societies at The University of Sheffield, including the history and dance societies, promoted the punch, encouraging members to try it on a night out.

QR codes were available at the bar throughout the week, directing customers to information on how to support the campaign.

The punch is part of Paws for a Cause’ wider effort to reduce the growing waiting list at the charity and ensure those in need of it receive support.

The 360Wire-backed campaign aims to raise £1,000 for 10 autistic children to meet a support dog, secure 15 sponsors for autism assistance dog Peggy, and have 10 people register interest as puppy socialisers.
