Meadowhall has backed the Paws for a Cause campaign, recognising Support Dogs as a lifeline for families in South Yorkshire and beyond.
Darren Pearce, centre director at Meadowhall, said: “We’re proud to support the Paws for a Cause campaign – we’ve worked with Support Dogs for over 20 years, and we have huge admiration for the incredible work they do to improve the lives of children and adults living with challenging medical conditions.
“We’re privileged to play a part in the training of Support Dogs at the centre – helping put their training to the test in real-world settings, including navigating the stairs, lifts, and busy cafes.”

Support Dogs regularly use Meadowhall as a training ground because the centre offers one of the busiest and most varied indoor environments in the region.
The high footfall, changing noise levels, and mix of shops and restaurants help young dogs build confidence and develop the calm, dependable behaviour needed to support their future partners.
Mr Pearce added: “It was brilliant to have a recent recruit named ‘Meadow’ in recognition of our long-standing partnership.
“The impact Support Dogs has within the community is remarkable and we’re delighted to continue to support such a meaningful initiative.”
The partnership fits within Meadowhall’s broader community-support strategy: over recent years, the centre reports having raised around £1.8 million for local charities, combining fundraising events, volunteering, and in-kind support.
The 360Wire-backed Paws for a Cause campaign aims to raise £1,000 for 10 autistic children to meet a support dog, secure 15 sponsors for autism-assistance dog Peggy, and recruit 10 puppy socialisers to help train future support dogs.
