A Bradford shop has been forced to close for three months after a raid found large amounts of illegal products on sale.

Allerton Mini Market, located at 103 Saffron Drive, Allerton, was raided in a joint operation between West Yorkshire Trading Standards, West Yorkshire Police, Bradford Council and West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service on October 30 2025.

During the operation, cigarettes, tobacco, illegal vapes and a quantity of cannabis were seized from the premises. One male was arrested and remains on police bail.

Sergeant Ceri Lloyd of the Neighbourhood Support Team at Bradford District Police said: “We welcome the closure order of this shop we have worked closely with council and partners to tackle the issue.

“An active police investigation remains ongoing in relation to the cannabis that was found at the location. Anti-social behaviour and criminal activity will not be tolerated, and we will take action to make Bradford safer.”

Huddersfield Magistrates Court granted an urgent three month closure order sought by Bradford Council on 31 October, after deeming that the shop was being used as a centre for illegal activity.

Cllr Kamran Hussain, Portfolio Holder for Neighbourhoods and Community Safety, added: “This operation shows how partnership working can achieve results. We hope this sends out a clear message that this kind of activity will not be tolerated and anyone involved will be dealt with by the appropriate organisation.”
