Detectives at West Yorkshire Police have launched a murder investigation following the death of a woman in Leeds.
Detective Inspector Tom Hilyer from the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team said: “Sadly, a woman has lost her life, specially trained officers are supporting the woman’s family.
“We believe this to be a domestic related incident and we are currently not looking for anyone else in connection with the death.”
At 9:01pm yesterday, officers were called to reports of a ‘disturbance’ at an address in Melville Gardens in the Woodhouse area of Leeds.
A woman, 62, was found with serious injuries. She received urgent medical attention but was pronounced dead at the scene.
A man, 56, was arrested on suspicion of murder and currently remains in police custody.
