Two teenagers in Scarborough suffered from firework injuries yesterday evening.
One had injuries to his face, and the other had injuries to his hand.
It is believed that both casualties, aged 18, were holding the fireworks at the time.
Police in Scarborough were called at around 7:15pm on 5 November to reports that a person had been injured by a firework on the foreshore.
On attendance it became clear that there were two casualties, and the beach was cleared in anticipation of the air ambulance landing.
However, both were taken from the scene by land ambulance and the beach was reopened.
Enquiries are ongoing and North Yorkshire Police are encouraging anyone who was present at the scene to get in touch if they have not already spoken to the police.
To do so, call 101 and pass information to the Force Control Room quoting reference 12250209389.
This serves as a reminder to be safe and vigilant on Bonfire Night, especially around fireworks.
