The CEO of a leading UK charity has backed Paws for a Cause, a campaign in aid of the charity Support Dogs.
Age UK operates nationally and has regularly championed the inclusion, value and support of older people in society.

Mr Steve Thomson, CEO of the Birmingham branch, said: “The launch of Paws for a Cause is a vital step in the commitment to continue empowering older people.
“For many of them that are disadvantaged, the companionship and practical assistance provided by Support Dogs are not a luxury; they are a lifeline.”
Support Dogs provides life-changing assistance dogs for adults with physical disabilities and epilepsy, as well as children with autism, and is currently facing a waiting-list crisis.
The 360Wire-backed campaign aims to tackle the issue by raising £1000 for 10 autistic children to meet a support dog, securing 15 sponsors for autism assistance dog Peggy, and having 10 people register interest as puppy socialisers.
Age UK frequently hosts events to raise funds and engage the community, such as the Innocent Big Knit.

Mr Steve Thomson added: “These incredible animals can help our clients maintain their routine, reduce isolation and crucially enable them to remain safe and independent in their own homes.
“This campaign will ensure the essential support continues to thrive.”
