A Bradford-based charity is encouraging the public to wear purple poppies this November to show their support for animals who have been lost in service, and honour those that are currently serving today.
Murphy’s Army, the charity behind the Purple Poppy Campaign, first launched it in 2016 aiming to give the purple poppy its rightful recognition.
Animals have played vital roles on the frontline throughout history, including horses, pigeons, and dogs.
This year for its 2025 Campaign, Murphy’s Army is supporting Bransby Horses, Service Dogs UK, and Tired Paws Foundation – all of which focus on the welfare of service animals.

The campaign is entirely volunteer run, ensuring every penny is directly received by the beneficiaries.
The charity has various purple poppy merchandise on sale to raise funds, such as their 2025 Murphy’s Army Purple Poppy pin badge, wreaths, wristbands, dog collar charms, flags, and tea towels.
The official merchandise can be purchased from theyalsoserved.org.
