An 82-year-old man was seriously injured after being hit by a car in Helmsley on Thursday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Bridge Street, Market Place, at around 12.29 pm on 30 October, following reports of a collision involving a black Skoda Yeti and a pedestrian.
The man was taken to the hospital by ambulance, where he remains in a serious condition.
The driver of the Skoda, an 81-year-old man, is assiting police with thier enquiries.
The road was closed for several hours while officers examined the scene and recovered the vehicle. but has since reopened.
Police are now gathering information as part of their investigation and are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the collision or has dashcam footage.
