Hull has been named in National Geographic’s ‘Best of the World 2026’, highlighting the Yorkshire city as a top place to visit.
Amongst the likes of The Dolomites and Rio de Janeiro, the magazine describes Hull as an ‘underrated northern England port city’ with ‘more than 800 years of maritime history’.
The feature highlights popular tourist spots, such as the Hull Maritime Museum, The Deep, Stage@TheDock, and a new Maritime Heritage Trail winding its way through the city’s Georgian Old Town.
Some took to Facebook to show their support. One user wrote ‘Proud to live in Hull’, while another added ‘Sounds great I might visit’.
The city had previously gained praise when it was announced as ‘City of Culture 2017’, following its potential for transformation, compelling talent, and rich heritage.
