Three men have been arrested after officers uncovered what are believed to be counterfeit British pound notes inside a vehicle in Hull yesterday.

Humberside Police received a call from a business establishment at Kingswood Retail Park at 6pm yesterday reporting that three men had allegedly entered the establishment and paid for food with counterfeit bank notes.

It was reported that this had occurred on three separate occasions between 17th and 20th October.

Officers attended the business and identified a vehicle in connection with the incident through CCTV.

The Roads Crime Team were deployed and stopped the vehicle on Londesbrough Street, locating the three men inside.

A search of the vehicle revealed what officers believe to be counterfeit British pound notes.

A 21-year-old man and 22-year-old man have since been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit fraud by false representation, and a 44-year-old man has also been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud.

All three men remain in custody at this time and are assisting with ongoing enquiries.
