The A64 has reopened to traffic in both directions after being closed for several hours this morning following a serious collision.

The route, between the A19 junction westbound and the A1036 junction eastbound, has been cleared by emergency services who were attending the incident.

National Highways Yorkshire will release a media appeal regarding the incident shortly.
