Two women from Barnsley will be sentenced next year after pleading guilty to perverting the course of justice.

Jayne Pepper, 54, of Hopewell Street, and Abbie Taylor, 32, of Birkdale Road, have both admitted one count of conspiring to pervert the court of justice.

Pepper and Taylor committed a series of acts, including disposing of a mobile phone, cleaning blood at the scene of a crime, arranging to remove CCTV footage and accessing patient medical records.

Pepper also obtained a person’s medical records without consent, leading to her pleading guilty to a charge of knowingly or recklessly obtaining or disclosing personal data without the consent of the controller.

She was employed at a hospital at the time but has now had her employment terminated due to this investigation.

Pepper and Taylor appeared at Sheffield Crown Court on Monday, 13th October, and have been released on bail.

Their sentencing hearing is set for November 2026.
