Officers from South Yorkshire Police arrested a 20 year old man this morning on suspicion of murder in connection with the shooting of Kassim Mohammed.
Kassim, 32, was fatally shot on Watery Street, Sheffield on 30 September. Since then, a murder investigation was launched.
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Andy Knowles said: “Our investigation into this targeted attack has continued at pace resulting in today’s arrest.
“Our priority has remained the same since this investigation was launched – providing answers for Kassim’s loved ones and ensuring justice is achieved for them. Our thoughts remain with Kassim’s family and friends.”
The man arrested this morning currently remains in custody and is the third arrest made in connection with Kassim’s death.
A 31 year old woman and a 22 year old man were also arrested on suspicion of murder but have been bailed since.
Inspector Knowles said: “I would like to thank our local communities for the vital information they have provided so far.
