New funding amounting £200,000 is available to organisations in Hull and East Yorkshire by the charity ‘Health Stars’ to help improve the wellbeing of people in the community.

Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust and their charity ‘Heath Stars’ have brought back their mental health and well-being grants at a time when this issue has never been more important.

Anita Green, Health Stars Charity Manager said: “We are proud to support local organisations through our Community Grant Scheme.”

Qualifying organisations can apply for any amount between £250 and £5000, whilst there is no deadline to apply, the opportunity will be closed once £200,000 has been reached.

The grants are designed to help strengthen local communities by funding projects that improve both mental and physical help.

Mrs Green added: “Last year we funded some lovely projects including therapeutic craft workshops to improve mental health and a film club aimed at reducing isolation.

“We can’t wait to see what amazing projects people we can help fund to create healthier and happier communities in Hull and East Yorkshire.”

In order to apply, a community or voluntary sector organisation should evidence how they are making a difference to improving the way people manage their emotional health and can evidence improvements to mental and physical health.

Application forms can be accessed on the ‘Health Stars’ website and anyone with further questions is directed to email for more information.
