Two men charged with the murder of Paedophile singer Ian Watkins will appear at Leeds Magistrates Court today, October 13.
Watkins was found dead inside of HMP Wakefield at 9.39 am on Saturday 11 October after reportedly being attacked by two fellow inmates, aged 25 and 43. The suspects have been charged on suspicion of murder.
The former Lostprophets singer had been serving a 29-year sentence since 2013 for a string of child sex offences, including the attempted rape of a baby.
Watkins survived a previous attack inside prison in 2023.
Reacting to his death in the Daily Mail, Watkins’ ex-girlfriend Joanne Mjadzelics said: ““This is a big shock, but I’m surprised it didn’t happen sooner. I was always waiting for this phone call.
““I wanted him dead for a long time after everything he did. I am relieved, I feel like a weight has been lifted from my head.”
