Two restaurants in the village of Spotborough, Doncaster, have been forced to temporarily close as a result of a fire on Saturday 11 October .
Mehfil India Brasserie suffered a fire on Saturday 11 October, causing significant damage to the restaurant’s interior.
A second restaurant in Spotborough, Otto Bar and Kitchen, has also been forced to shut due to large amounts of smoke lingering in the area.
Announcing the incident on Facebook, the owners of Mehfil India Brasserie said: “Mehfil is sadly closed until further notice due to a fire. No one is hurt thankfully, will update you soon.”
Several fire crews were scrambled at 2.55pm on Saturday 11 October and arrived at the scene on Thorpe Lane. The building had already been evacuated when fire crews arrived, and nobody was injured in the blaze.
Otto Bar and Kitchen, which is located 250 feet away from Mehfil Brasserie, said: “We attempted to open our doors today but unfortunately, due to the strong smell of smoke and other concerning conditions, we are unable to do so.
“The safety of our staff and customers remains out top priority, and we cannot take any risks at this time. We are assessing the situation daily and will reopen only when it is completely safe to do so.”
