Four arrested following high speed police chase and rammings in Scarborough
8 October 2025

Several police cars were rammed into during a high speed police chase in Scarborough on
last night, resulting in four arrests.

The incident began at 9.36pm near Stepney Hill when a silver BMW 3 Series failed to stop
for police.

A police car was then reverse rammed by the BMW on Gladstone Street before speeding off
towards Filey on the A165.

Several police cars were damaged during the chase, which ended in a field near Osgodby at
9.40pm. The driver and three passengers attempted to flee the scene on foot but were
swiftly caught and arrested by officers.

All four of the suspects have been bailed. The driver of the car, a 31-year-old man from
Bridlington, has been charged with a number of offences, including: dangerous driving,
failing to stop for the police and driving without insurance.

He will appear at Scarborough Magistrates’ Court on 17 November.
